my roommate let me try on her legit ray bans and the only way i can describe the feeling was powerful. they felt like power in my hands. so i am in the process of convincing my mother that they are, in fact, worth the money because when you put on a pair of tortoise wayfarer ray bans, you are the essence of cool. i could wear nothing but a shredded burlap sack and some ray bans and i would still look uber cool. so it's an investment because i won't have to put money into cute clothes anymore! eh? (i know, i'm so diplomatic.)
i seriously finished the best book ever this weekend. it's called unbroken by laura hillenbrand (the author of seabiscuit. this girl has legit talent.) it's a true WWII story of a former olympic runner who spends two years as a war prisoner after his plane crashes in the ocean and he gets caught by japanese soldiers. it made me cry so hard and i spent, like, 12 hours on sunday looking up interviews and tv specials on louie zamperini. the thing is, i get really excited after i read a good book and i always have to wait a few months to decide if it's one of my favorites...but i think this could be in the top five books i've ever read. seriously. it was so moving, you should probably stop reading this blog right now and go buy it.
also, i wanted to say......happy mothers day, mom! thanks for being so awesome :) you're the best mom but you're also my best friend. i love you!
I miss you girl! We all miss you! What would I do without my awesome, funny, smart, cute and spunky daughter? I'm glad I don't have to find out.
